Online Services

Already registed for EMIS (Patient Acceess)?

Ringmead Medical Practice allows you to access many of your practice services safely through a secure website.

At present the following services are available online:

  • Booking and cancelling Appointments
  • Repeat Prescriptions
  • View your Medical Record

IMPORTANT UPDATE - New  logins required to access Online Services

On the 2nd September 2016 we moved to a new clinical system EMIS web. This means even if you are registered for our online services you will need to re-register. This is because it is a completely different clinical system and gives the user access to more information than its predecessor “Vision”.

We have emailed all previous registered users with a re-registration form and asked that this is returned as soon as possible. This will allow us to check your ID against your Vision record whilst we still have access to our old system. Once completed we will email you your new account ID information and ask that you set this up as soon as possible before it expires.

Unfortunately – because more information is accessible to you we have been told to follow the rules below when registering patients:

  • Registration for Online Services is only available to patients aged 16 and above.
  • All users must have their own individual email address.
  • Family email addresses cannot be accepted.
  • Previous users of online services must re-register for the new online services.
  • If you were registered for the Vision Patient Access Online Services, you should not need to provide ID again. We will check your records for completed verification.

If you are a new user to online services then you will need to provide two forms of ID along with the completed Patient Online Access Registration Form.

Things to consider

Before you apply for online access to your record, there are some other things to consider.

Although the chances of any of these things happening are very small, you will be asked that you have read and understood the following before you are given login details

Forgotten history
There may be something you have forgotten about in your record that you might find upsetting

Abnormal results or bad news
If your GP has given you access to test results or letters, you may see something that you find upsetting to you. This may occur before you have spoken to your doctor or while the surgery is closed and you cannot contact them

Choosing to share your information with someone
It’s up to you whether or not you share your information with others – perhaps family members or carers. It’s your choice, but also your responsibility to keep the information safe and secure

Coercion
If you think you may be pressured into revealing details from your patient record to someone else against your will, it is best that you do not register for access at this time

Misunderstood information
Your medical record is designed to be used by clinical professionals to ensure that you receive the best possible care.  Some of the information within your medical record may be highly technical, written by specialists and not easily understood. If you require further clarification, please contact the surgery for a clearer explanation.

Information about someone else
If you spot something in the record that is not about you or notice any other errors, please log out of the system immediately and contact the practice as soon as possible.

Security Notice

It is your responsibility to ensure that your Online Access details are not shared with anyone else. Any misuse of the service will result in your access being withdrawn.

If you lose your security details, contact us straight away by emailing ringmead.onlineservices@nhs.net. If you think someone has used your login without your permission contact us so we can block your current access and give you new login codes
