Ringmead Medical Practice is committed to becoming Dementia Friendly in 2017. One of the first steps in this is to ensure all staff become “Dementia Friends”. To date all receptionists, administrators and Health Care Assistant staff have attended Dementia Friends training provided by the Local Dementia Action Alliance team. Members of the Patient Participation Group have also attended this training.
A Dementia Friend learns a little bit more about what it's like to live with dementia and then turns that understanding into action - anyone of any age can be a Dementia Friend. Whether you attend a face-to-face Dementia Friends Information Session or watch our online video, Dementia Friends is about learning more about dementia and the small ways you can help. From telling friends about Dementia Friends to visiting someone you know living with dementia, every action counts.
The local Dementia Advisor at Bracknell Forest Council, Karen White, produces a newsletter packed with information for patients and their carers. Please email her if you would like to be added to the distribution list.
There is lots of information available to you on the Bracknell Forest Website so rather than replicate it all here – please visit the Bracknell Forest Council website for more information.
Please encourage them to make an appointment with their GP.
