Medical Appointments Update

Everyone leads busy lives and we at the Ringmead Medical Practice understand that it can sometimes be difficult to make an appointment to see us. Here are the ways to make appointments.

There are five ways of booking an appointment to see a Doctor.

Telephone Consultations

Doctors can prescribe and advise over the phone. If they feel you need to be seen, they will ask you to come to the surgery to see them.

Advance appointments

You can book an appointment up to two weeks in advance. For example, if you know you are due a Medication Review there is no need to leave it until your prescription is due – Book in advance.

On the Day appointments

The doctor will call you back and decide if you need to be seen the same day. In most cases, they will agree a time with you there and then.

Please remember to leave your mobile phone on if you are expecting a call back from the doctor. A missed call to you is a missed contact with another patient.

Surgery Closures 2021

GP surgeries and health centres participate in regular staff training. Staff training is valued by all staff and is a benefit to patient care. Where possible we do not close the practice for staff training but there are occasions when this is needed. The practice partakes in monthly Bracknell and Ascot CCG clinical training (BASE) whereby we close at 12.30pm and will reopen the next working day. We sometimes close at lunchtimes for in house staff training. Should you contact the surgery when we are closed, our answerphone will guide you to contact the out of hours’ service or call back when we reopen. Please see our website or posters in the surgery for any additional planned closures.

If you are unwell and require urgent clinical advice during this time then please call the out of hours’ service on 03000 24 0005.
